    Academic Curriculum

Students at Bristol Cathedral Choir School learn an academic curriculum rooted in ‘Powerful Knowledge’. Our subject leaders work carefully with their teams to design, re-design and adapt the curriculum so that it meets the principles of our ‘BCCS Curriculum Fundamentals’. If you are interested in knowing more about these, as well as how we define ‘Powerful Knowledge’ at BCCS, you can find a summary here.

The table below shows the curriculum time allocated to each subject in each year of key stage three (Years 7 - 9). In Years 10 and 11, all students study English, maths, science, core PE, PSHE and Religion, Ethics and Philosophy (REP). In addition, they will study four ‘options subjects’.
